| Job Description |
Provide services to individuals who require assistance to obtain a driver's license, vehicle registration, and/or title.
Essential Job Functions
1.Become Familiar with the application and operation of the Division’s computer system (ALVIN). Forms and resources used to perform the work; cash handling and the functions of the Division of Motor Vehicles.
2.Determine fees and taxed required.
3.Enter motor vehicle and driver’s license information into the computerized system; update data base when license are renewed
4.Interpret, apply and explain the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act and other laws, administrative regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the registration of ownership of motor vehicles and licensing of drivers.
5.Determine whether vehicle must be licensed; furnish the public with, and explain the use of, forms and application for registration transactions; as certain whether applicant are legal residents and determine whether tables various vehicles license, registration, and other fees and penalties requires by code; issue license plates or tabs.
6.Receive motor vehicle documentation; screen item for completeness and fee assignment; receive money, check, and money orders and operate cash register to record the transaction; prepare reports to reflect daily activity; collect daily receipts and deposit in safe bank.
7.submit a summary of the pervious months activity to the city council
8.daily balance and prepare for a deposit

| Qualifications |
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Education & Experience
1.High School graduate or GED
2.One year of work experience in a position providing direct customer service.
3.On year of office experience which included eliciting or exchanging information and explaining or providing instructions regarding procedures, services, or requirements.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
1.Demonstrated efficacy in verbal and written communication skills; basic math proficiency and cash-handling skills.
2.Ability to maintain composure and use diplomacy and tact when dealing with customers.
3.Ability to comprehend, interpret and apply city ordinances, state and federal laws and regulations through formal and on-the-job-training
4.Ability to learn and apply interviewing techniques to elicit information from customers
5.Ability to learn how to analyze and evaluate oral and written documentation
6.Proficient skills in the use of computers, office machines and equipment with particular emphasis on accurate computer-based word processing skills.
7.Ability to type, with no errors, 40 wpm
